When you examine the life of David, 4 things clearly highlight his character:
1. HE WAS A MAN OF COMPASSION: David spared King Saul more than once. 1Sam 24:1-20
2. HE WAS A MAN OF COMMINTMENT: David understood covenant, he showed kindness to Jonothan’s son: mephibosheth.
3. HE WAS A MAN OF COURAGE: David showed supernatural courage in the face of formidable enemy of Israel, the champion of the Philistine, the giant called Goliath. 1Sam. 17:32-51
4. HE WAS A MAN OF INTEGRITY: King David refused to kill Absolom his son for betrayal. 2Sam. 14:1-24,33.
May God help us today to desire the same charater we see in David, that we may be able to use the key of David to open the kingdom of God given to us by our Lord Jesus, in Luke 4 and Matthew 16.
Luke 4:18-19
18 “The Spirit of the LORD is upon me,
for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released,
that the blind will see,
that the oppressed will be set free,
19 and that the time of the LORD’s favor has come.”
Matt 16:19
19 And I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven. Whatever you forbid on earth will be forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven.”
